Bespoke Doll Orders - The Process

To make a Bespoke Doll, I use a range of fabrics and items that have been chosen by the customer from their personal belongings. These selected items should hold personal memories, or a sentimental meaning related to the recipient of the doll.

Here is a list of suggested items as a guide to help you:

Clothing items

  • Knit wear
  • Cardigans
  • Jumpers
  • Scarfs

  • Jeans or trousers
  • Skirts
  • Dresses
  • Shirts
  • Blouses
  • T-shirts
  • Socks
  • Pillowcase from home
  • Work/School uniform
  • Apron

Clothing items continued

  • Tights
  • Slips
  • Under Garments
  • Lingerie
  • Hats

Other items may include

  • Loose buttons
  • Broken jewellery
  • Belts
  • Ribbons
  • Hairbands
  • Scrunchies
  • Hair ties

Before you send the items, you must fill in some details on the order form  which can be printed and placed in the package. This gives me the background story of the gift recipient. Before you send the package, check that you have included all the necessary items and information.

This gives me the background story for the gift recipient.
***On receipt of your order enquiry form I will send you a link for payment***

After I receive your package and read your form, I spend time looking at the materials, and gauging quantities, colours, and textures. I see what is available to use, and I make note of what catches my eye. I don’t begin immediately. I let it sink in, and I reflect and mull over the ideas that come to mind. Throughout the process of creating a doll, there is an ongoing connection between hand, head, and heart. On occasion, I may add something from my own collection of fabrics and items to enhance the doll further.

This whole process from when I receive your package and payment, to the finished doll being ready for postage/collection, can take up to six weeks. I will log your order into my timeline appropriately. Please order early, as during some times of the year I can be extremely busy (especially from October on, working towards Christmas).
