Handmade Bespoke Dolls

Handmade Bespoke Dolls by Teresa Doyle

Dollmaker of Ireland’s Ancient East, Teresa lives outside a small village in rural Ireland.

A graduate of fine art, Teresa has spent the last decade developing her craft business, creating handcrafted dolls using much-loved materials that evoke precious memories and recall celebration, people, places, and events.

These handcrafted dolls offer people the opportunity to have a unique and authentic piece of Irish craft. Each of the twelve dolls, handmade and heartfelt, capture the spirit of the people of Ireland. They have been created from vintage cloth, wools, and other materials, and are the perfect keepsake gift to celebrate and cherish special occasions like births, weddings, Christmas, First Holy Communions, birthdays, or your visit to Ireland.

Teresa also makes customised bespoke dolls to order, which are made from fabric items supplied to her by the client. You can read more about the creative process for bespoke dolls here

We store and hold onto precious items: baby clothes, the school uniform, a man’s cap, a grandad’s overcoat. They can be moved from house to house, press to drawer, wardrobe to box.
I make many types of dolls for all kinds of occasions, including:

  • Birthday
  • Memorial
  • Graduation
  • Retirement
  • Anniversaries
  • Bride to Be
  • Communion
  • Family Doll

"I receive some of these thoughtfully selected items and create a doll that combines their fabrics and memories. I use my skills in art and craft and my ability to connect with people to transform these items into a family heirloom which stores sentiment and evokes memories."
